Richmond specialises in the treatment and management of pain, chronic pain and recurring injuries . He is a Chartered Physiotherapist with a Masters degree in Pain Science and a further degree in Sport Rehabilitation. Richmond set up the Specialist Pain Physio Clinics in 2008 in Wimbledon, London and now offers the service from The New Victoria Hospital in Kingston-Upon-Thames and The Groves Medical Centre, New Malden.

Richmond is part of the editorial team for the Physiotherapy Pain Association, writing about pain and pain science. His research interests include tendinopathy, tendon pain and new scientific findings that demonstrate changes within the nervous system. He is a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain and the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
