Spinal Assessment Clinic
The Spinal Assessment Clinic at The New Malden Diagnostic Centre provides a ‘one-stop’ assessment, diagnosis and a treatment plan for your spinal pain – back pain, neck pain, thoracic pain and associated pain and symptoms that include sciatica, leg pain, altered sensation, numbness and altered sense of the affected area. Back and neck pain are very common problems that can cause limitation and distress. When you come to the assessment clinic, you will learn about your pain and how you can tackle the issues effectively.
In ’1-2-3′ you will understand your spinal pain and know what you can do to deal with the problem(s):
- Assessment jointly with Mr Richmond Stace (Specialist Pain Physiotherapist) and Mr Keyoumars Ashkan (Consultant Neurosurgeon): you tell us about your pain and problems; we listen and then examine your spine and associated areas. You will be asked to complete several simple questionnaitres that tell us more about your pain, your thinking about the pain and the impact upon your lifestyle. - MRI scan
- Discussion about the scan result, assessment findings and the next steps to be taken including a treatment plan and self-care strategies. You will have the opportunity to book treatment sessions at the end of the clinic.
